Inside the Summer Helmet Build Queue: Six Sci-Fi Helmets in the Forge
The workshop queue now includes two Stormtrooper helmets, a Helldivers 2 inspired helmet, a Heavy Mandalorian style helmet, and brand-new Shoretrooper and Judge Dredd inspired builds.

The Fable Forge Props workshop is officially busy enough that the printers may be forming a union.
There are currently six sci-fi helmet builds moving through different stages of the process: two Stormtrooper helmets, one Helldivers 2 inspired helmet, one Heavy Mandalorian style helmet, one new Shoretrooper inspired helmet, and one new Judge Dredd inspired helmet.
Running several 3D printed helmet projects at once is not simply a matter of pressing print six times and waiting for victory music. Each build has its own printing schedule, assembly needs, surface preparation, paint plan, and finishing details. Keeping the queue moving means giving every helmet the right job at the right time.
The two Stormtrooper helmets are furthest along. Their white shells are assembled and painted, and the current focus is masking and applying the gray teeth and smaller gray details. These areas may be small, but they carry a surprising amount of the character. A Stormtrooper helmet without its face details looks less like Imperial armor and more like it forgot to finish getting ready.
The Helldivers 2 inspired helmet is another repeat visitor to the forge. Its angular plates and military silhouette make it a great candidate for layered paint, metallic wear, grime, and physical battle damage. The goal is never to make it look dirty at random. Good weathering should suggest where the helmet was handled, scraped, struck, and exposed to the environment.
The Heavy Mandalorian style helmet is part of a larger armor direction. It has a heavier silhouette and offers more room for bold material contrast, layered metallic finishes, and substantial weathering. This one should feel less like a clean shelf piece and more like equipment with a history.
Two fresh builds have also entered the queue. The Shoretrooper inspired helmet brings a different armor profile and a crisp white armor finish with restrained patrol wear, while the Judge Dredd inspired helmet returns with its strong law-enforcer shape and dramatic visor design. Both are new starts, which means printing, test fitting, seam work, and a great deal of sanding are waiting patiently in the near future.
Working in batches helps the schedule. While one helmet cures, another can be sanded. While paint dries, a new set of parts can be printing. It is organized chaos, but it keeps the forge productive without rushing any individual finish.
These are fan-made 3D printed display and cosplay pieces. They are not protective safety equipment and are not officially licensed products.
More progress photos will follow as the new Shoretrooper and Judge Dredd builds leave the printer and the current Stormtrooper helmets move into their next detail stage. For now, the queue is full, the sandpaper supply is nervous, and the forge is very much open.
